A family fun day that attracted more than 300 visitors keen to take advantage of a rare opportunity to see a genuine Formula 1 Ferrari has raised over a £1,000 for Leukaemia Care.
The day-long event, held on Sunday 7 September, was organised by Addison Tyre Centre On the High Street at Princes End in Tipton and allowed F1 fans the chance to have their photo taken with the car. Visitors could also test their racing skills in an F1 simulator.
Jason Addison, director of the company said: “We were really pleased to have such a great turnout to the event and would like to thank all those who showed their support on the day. More than 130 people had their photos taken in the Ferrari and 110 enjoyed a go on the simulator, which will provide them with a lasting memory. More importantly though, they helped to raise £1,073 for Leukaemia Care –
Leukaemia Care’s Fundraising Executive, Alice Watts said: “We are absolutely delighted that Jason’s event proved such a hit and that everyone had a great time. The money they raised will go a long way towards helping us to continue our vital work offering support to patients, their families, friends and carers. Beacon Radio attended the event with beacon bear to entertain the kids, the under 16’s winner of the fastest lap was Thomas Foster and the adult winner was Richard Taiwo. They both received some official F1 Caps and t shirts. The winner of the 2x tickets for the F1 factory tour was Neil Porter from Coseley
