Fundraising

Here at Addison tyre centre we believe that charity starts at home, that is why we play a big part in the fundraising for local and national charities. We take our fundraising very seriously and have raised thousands of pounds over the last few years for Leukaemia charities and will continue to do so in the future…

A family fun day that attracted more than 1000 visitors keen to take advantage of a rare opportunity to see a genuine Formula 1 Ferrari has raised an amazing £2,000 for the Leukaemia unit Appeal fund which supports the Georgina unit at Russells Hall Hospital Dudley.

The two day event, held on Saturday 23rd May and Sundau 24th May, was organised and sponsored by Addison Tyre Centre (Tipton) and Bridgestone UK.

This allowed hundreds of F1 fans the chance to have their photo taken with the car. Visitors could also test their racing skills in an F1 simulator. Winning official F1 merchandise for fastest Laps were Liam Heard age 14 from Stourbridge and Michael Farley age 24 from Halesowen

Liam who won the under 16 category had been shopping with his mom at merry hill centre and had one go on the simulator and was disappointed with his time, when he got home he decided to cycle it all the way from stourbridge for a few more goes He ended up getting the fastest lap time of the weekend!

The winner of the prize draw is Jeffrey Warren and his son Marc they have won two tickets to take a tour of the Red Bull Factory in Milton Keynes on the 10th June

Jason Addison, director of the company said: “We were really pleased to have such a great turnout to the event and would like to thank all those who showed their support on the day. More than 300 people had their photos taken in the Ferrari and 200 enjoyed a go on the simulator, which will provide them with a lasting memory. More importantly though, they helped to raise £2,000 for the Leukeamia Unit Appeal Fund – a charity that is close to my family’s hearts as my son Scott was diagnosed with leukaemia when he was just five years old.

“Scott underwent intensive treatment until he was ten and is now thankfully in remission and doing really well”
